Baxi boiler prices in the UK

So, how much is a baxi boiler going to cost? Baxi boiler prices range from £650 to £3,000, including gas and electric boilers of all types. Baxi combi boiler prices in the UK start at the lowest range, with models like the 400 Combi 2.1 as low as £650. System and conventional boilers are more expensive, starting at £900.

Baxi combi boiler prices range from £650 to £1,600. Higher output versions tend to be more expensive, but even cheap Baxi boilers, like the 400 Combi, can be a good addition to a smaller home (2 bedrooms, for example).

Baxi conventional boilers can be between £900 and £1,800, being suitable for small to large homes. Although these boilers can be a good fit for small homes, combi and system boilers can be easier to install, and most smaller homes do not have a loft space.

Baxi boiler installation cost can vary based on the type of boiler and the one you’re replacing it with. A like-for-like boiler change is far less expensive, while swapping a conventional boiler for a combi will require removal of parts and reattachment. Similarly, putting in a system boiler or a conventional boiler will also require adding additional parts.

Baxi also provides 2 electric boilers: Amptec Electric and Electromax Electric boilers. Both these boilers are sold under the Heatrae Sadia name, which is part of the Baxi brand. Baxi’s electric boilers cost between £850 and £3,000.

Baxi boiler service costs

The service costs of Baxi boilers will fall between £70 and £130, like most boilers. Baxi also provides cover plans that can pre-pay for maintenance and services, ranging from £11.99 to £27.99. These plans include:

  • Heating Care: £11.99 per month for exclusive access to the Baxis Boiler Care portal. This plan takes care of your central heating system (including radiators and exposed pipes), with parts & labour included, with £750 going towards boiler repair (after warranty expiration). It also adds an annual service on your boiler and is paid via a monthly subscription. You can also get access to their maintenance portal for useful hints and tips. This only applies to boilers with at least 13 months on their warranty.
  • Gold: For £24.99 a month, it also offers all of the benefits of the heating care plan (minus the coverage on radiators and exposed pipes), but can be applied regardless of the warranty time left on the boiler. Annual service and visits by Gas Safe engineers, with repairs up to the value of £1,500 if your boiler fails the annual service or stops working. It offers support 365 days a year.
  • Platinum: The priciest plan is £27.99 per month, adding the best part of both previous plans. It covers repairs up to the value of £1,500 if your boiler fails the annual service or stops working. Support is covered for 365 days a year and looks after your central heating system (including radiators and exposed pipes).

Baxi boiler review: Pros and cons

Pros
  • Affordable: Baxi boilers tend to be on the cheaper side, if not the cheapest ones on the market. They compete with other companies like Alpha Boilers for the highest value for money, and keeping down the overall new boiler cost.
  • Well-reviewed: With a 4.6 Trustpilot score, the company is well-regarded. They also have a fairly positive reputation among professional reviewers.
  • Lots of options: Baxi has a number of boilers in conventional, system, and combi configurations. They even have a number of electric boilers if you include the Heatrae Sadia subsidiary.
Cons
  • Low warranties: The 2 to 10-year warranties may not be as extensive as one would want nowadays. Many premium brands offer 12 and 13 year warranties that cover much of the boiler’s lifespan.
  • Average max hot water flow rate: While the hot water flow rate is suitable for most homes, it’s nothing to write home about. The max 16.4 l/min is lower than other brands like Viessmann or Worcester Bosch.

Baxi boiler customer reviews

Baxi trustpilot score

According to the company’s Trustpilot entry, they score a 4.6 with their customer base. The company is fairly popular, scoring better than bigger, more expensive brands like Viessmann and Vaillant.

Homeowners talk glowingly about the great boiler servicing through various cover plans. They quickly receive their servicing appointments, with engineers often arriving the next day. Similarly, repairs and maintenance issues are handled promptly, according to many customers.

Which.co.uk has also given Baxi a high score, with an 84% approval rating from customers. They also surveyed engineers, who overwhelmingly praise the company’s boilers for being easy to repair.

How does Baxi compare to other boiler brands?

Baxi is among the most affordable boiler manufacturers in our comparison, while also being of decent quality. As mentioned earlier, Baxi boilers reviews indicate customer satisfaction, with a 4.6 Trustpilot UK score, being one of the highest.

Baxi also provides some of the cheapest gas boilers, starting at £650 and going up to £1,800. Conversely, they have very expensive electric boilers, which can cost as much as £3,000, which is far higher than many of the competitors on this list.

While Baxi does not provide the best warranties, their offers are often in line with other manufacturers. With a 10-year maximum warranty, Baxi is definitely within the standard range, even if they aren’t providing the longest coverage.

Are Baxi boilers any good?

Baxi boilers have a lot to offer, including great customer reviews, various boiler cover plans, and affordable prices. Starting off at a low purchase cost of £650, smaller homes can certainly benefit from the basic combi boilers, while the more expensive models can be great for large homes (4 to 5 bedrooms).

They have numerous options in multiple boiler types, offering something that can be adjusted to any type of home. Their electric boilers can be a great energy substitute for small to medium-sized homes (2 to 3 bedrooms) that are outside of the gas grid.

Clearly, there are many different options to choose from. The best way to find out which Baxi boiler is best for your home is to contact an installer. Finding the right one can take hours of research and price comparisons, but it doesn’t have to. With our service, you can access our network of vetted installers and procure the best offers in your area.
